I studied art for two years at the University of North Carolina, but finished with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Those studies prepared me for a career of finance and information systems in the healthcare industry. Over the years, I have studied drawing, sculpture, water color, acrylic and oil painting, stained glass, and pottery making. I began to experiment with painting with color pencils in the mid 1980’s and have found that to be my favorite medium, using it almost exclusively now.
Recently I returned to the lovely mountains and countryside of Wilkes, and have renewed my desire to explore and study wild flora and fauna in the area. Through my color pencil art, I hope to share my fascination with and appreciation of the wonders our natural world has to offer us.
