Pat Miller

Pat Miller

Watauga County, NC

GrandMotherMadeIt is as literal as it sounds.

As a Grandmother of two, Pat Miller quickly learned that the grand kiddos needed only so many dresses, pajama pants, placemats, and quilts. That led her to expand her artistry into more fiber venues with a current focus on quilting, thread painting, embroidery, patchwork, and mixed fibers. Her designs range from modern and contemporary to playful whimsical. Most of her work is free-form based on natural inspirations. Several of her works are privately commissioned or memory quilts.

Pat Miller’s professional career consisted of 35 years in sales and management with IBM Corporation and Cisco Systems prior to ‘promoting’ herself to GrandMotherMadeIt.com as a new-found way to expand her creativity with artistry in fiber venues. Having no fine arts education or background, she loves hearing “WOW! Is that really created from fabric?”

She is Past-President of the Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild in Boone, NC and a member of the Watauga County Arts Council.

Her work was juried and featured in the Watauga County Arts Council Main Gallery in April 2017 where 21 quilts and wall hangings were displayed. Quilted ‘walker totes’ and ‘glass cases’ were sold at Holiday Originals at ArtSpace, Boone in 2017 and are currently on display there. Textile wall hangings were juried and displayed in the Northwest NC Visitor Center exhibition Sept 1-Oct 30, 2017. She is thrilled to be a Charter member and juried artisan of the Blue Ridge Artisan Center.
